Mother's Day Eve
Due to a work trip taking me out of town beginning at 8:00 am on Sunday, May 10 (a.k.a. Mother's Day), we celebrated Mom's Day today.
My own mom and dad came to watch Julia's soccer game, and then mom and I met Breesha for lunch and a movie ("The Soloist"—do you think I'm too old to learn to play the cello?).
When I arrived home from the movie, I had cards, flowers, and a big present waiting for me:

But before you go all "Oh no he di-int!", I actually wanted this. The reality is that I look forward to having the ability to mow my own lawn, as my problems previously were that a.) I could never get the damn gas mower started anyway, and b.) if I did, I always was laid up with massive allergies for the rest of the day due to all the crap that thing kicks up.
Plus, hey: it's green.
I also got a nice Eddie Bauer raincoat. I've never owned a raincoat. This shows the climate I've lived in my whole adult life (and the climate I'm headed to tomorrow morning).
In the evening, we went for a walk down the hill to the nature park to partake in cuteness:
That's some teenage geese, there.
I know I'm a little obsessed with the baby geese (see previous entry), but just look at 'em...

LOOK AT 'EM!
Awwwwwww.....and the human is pretty dang cute, too.
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! TREAT YO MOMMA GOOD!
