Technology These Days...

Above: Julia waves to her beloved Auntie Stacie and baby cousin Ian over Skype.

Julia shows off her birthday presents to relatives over Skype.
Travis plays golf remotely with my brother through the magic Wii-internet-ness.
I have found long-lost friends and family members through Facebook.
The Wii Fit cartoon guy shames us for not working out.
I have thousands of songs on a device that's the size of a cookie.

These aren't even the most interesting cutting-edge technologies, they are simply the ones I sort-of understand. I don't have the head for it.

What technology will be around when Julia is a teen? An adult? It boggles the mind.

I'm so happy that Travis is such the good porterpeople AV guy. Without him, I have no doubt that I would still be using dial-up, limping along with a cinder block of a PC, thinking that email was absolutely amazing, strapping a Discman to me for my walks, and spending a small fortune on the Geek Squad.
