Operation "Eat Less, Move More": DAY 11 UPDATE
January 11, 2009
MICHELE UPDATE:
Well, I am going to claim that I have tried, and succeeded, to stay within the medical principle of "First, Do No Harm". I have not gained nor lost at all. Even down to the tenth of a pound, I am exactly the same weight as I was on New Years Day.
I had a birthday this week! So I am declaring it a twisted achievement that nothing has changed this week, which of course brought with it lunches out, two parties, pizza, pasta, desserts, and many "liquid calories" (if you get my drift).
I haven't done anything exercise-wise. I shall work on that. I have increased my consumption of fresh fruit, but not veggies. Still using half/half in my coffee, but at least not my tea!
Wii Fit review: many of you have asked us to report our opinion of Wii Fit. My opinion is that it is really cool for the Body Test stuff (weight and BMI charting, the "advice", the chastising for not checking in for days, and all the fun graphics). I think the "Aerobics" portion is pretty lame (running in place in your living room?), but the "Balance Games" (soccer ball noggin whacking, hula hoop, tightrope walking) are fun. The "Yoga" portion could be promising (it's so cute to see Julia doing yoga) but I so far have no interest in yoga so I wouldn't know. The "Strength Training" part I can't comment on, because I haven't gone into it.
For my birthday, Travis bought me the Wii "Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party 2" (which makes you think you need to add several !!! after typing the name). I think I could have some fun and burn some calories with that, but getting drunk first might negate any weight benefits, unfortunately.
TRAVIS UPDATE:
Travis has gained 1.5 pounds. He says that makes him want to go out and buy a bag of Snickers bars.
He admits he didn't do any exercise this week. He was "good" with eating until my birthday came along (pizza, clam dip, and beer. Beeeeeeer.) And he's still a Diet Coke addict.

Despite my request that you stop referring to yourselves as overweight or out of shape you have not stopped. I am now forced to file suit. Prepare to be served.
