Have you ever realized with a shock that your pets are getting up there in years? This recently happened to me. I thought I'd update the world on the mammals in our lives.



Zowie was our first pet as a couple that weighed more than a pound (there was a hamster early on). She was an impulse adoption, much to Travis' dismay. Her birthday is May 1, 1995, which makes her 13 years old. She looks really good for being an old cat. I don't even think of her as being old. She rules the roost and likes to sleep on Travis' head. We'll even try to switch sides of the bed but she follows his head, faithfully.



Brando was born November 14, 1996, and like his namesake came into this world a handsome trim good-lookin' man and has aged into a grey old grumpy fatboy. He is 12 years old. Poor Brando got grey early, and within the last few years has sprouted warts and growths, bumps and lumps ALL over his body from his forehead to his toes (vet says they are benign). We love you, Brando, and you will be legendary long after you're gone.



Sammy and Blue have added a squeaking happy presence in our front room. These girls were born in February 2008, so they are not really old, but it would be rude not to include the pigs.
